The University of South Wales is a result of a merger of the University of Glamorgan and University of Wales in 2013, with its roots going back to the mid-19th century. At present, the university hosts 25,000 undergraduates and postgraduates, and it’s in the top ten of UK campus universities by a total number of students. Its student community represents 120 countries.
The university’s activities are concentrated in three faculties: Computing, Engineering, and Science; Life Sciences and Education; Creative Industries. Combined, they deliver over 500 programmes and courses, many of which are accredited by professional bodies.
The University of South Wales partners with a multitude of research institutions, universities, and organizations from 18 countries. Along with that, it established strong links with a range of businesses offering practical experiences and placement opportunities. The university’s employability rates are some of the highest in the country, and 95% of the graduates find a job within 6 months after finishing their degrees.
The International Office Scholarships provide a £1,500-£2,000 reduction of tuition fees for undergraduates and postgraduates respectively. There are also Chancellors International Development Scholarships for students of specific nationalities, EU Scholarships, Chevening scholarships for those pursuing master’s degrees, and others.

The university has three campuses in Wales as well as an international one in Dubai, UAE. The largest of the campuses is located in Pontypridd and spread between two sites, Treforest and Glyntaff. Its cutting-edge facilities include clinical simulation centres, crime scene mock-up rooms, an aircraft workshop, sports halls, laboratories, and many others. The Cardiff campus provides facilities for creative arts and sciences including design studios, dance and performance studios, music studious, a theatre, etc. NatWest’s Student Living Index recognized Cardiff as the most affordable student city. The third campus in Newport features a variety of subject-specific faculties equipped with modern study spaces, libraries, cafes, etc. All three campuses in South West are easily accessed by air, road, or train.
International students who made the University of South West their firm choice have a priority in receiving on-campus accommodation. Off-campus housing is available as well, and the Accommodation Office will help with booking an option meeting your needs.
The university delivers extensive language support for international students. It includes general pre-sessional courses, in-sessional courses, and subject-specific programmes such as English for Aviation.
