What is the difference between an undergraduate and a postgraduate degree?
An undergraduate or Bachelor's degree is the qualification undertaken at a University usually following completion of a high school qualification. In the UK, these are usually 3-4 years in length. On completion of a Bachelor's degree a student may choose to complete the higher level qualification of a postgraduate or Master's degree. UK Master's degrees are usually 1-2 years in length.
Do UK universities charge an application fee?
The vast majority of UK universities do not charge an application fee. However, if you apply to University via UCAS (the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service), for 2022 this will cost £22 for one choice or £26.50 for 2 or more choices. Please also note that agents/representatives/counsellors in your home country may charge a fee for services especially if assistance with a visa application is requested.
