Established in 1843, Nottingham Trent gained the university status in 1992. The 2018 National Student Survey by Times Higher Education recognized it as the University of the Year. The Guardian awarded it with the same title in 2019. Along with 58 other UK-based education institutions, it received the TEF Gold rating for excelling at teaching. About 92% of students recommend Nottingham Trent as a university of choice. A survey of leavers showed that 95% of the university’s students were in employment within six months after graduation.

Nottingham Trent University is one of the largest among its peers thanks to the student population of 60,000 students, including overseas students from 135 countries and 18,000 international alumni. The university also partners with 50 academic institutions in 40 countries, and this provides opportunities to study abroad. Nottingham Trent boasts the largest law school in the UK as well as internationally recognized design, fashion, and creative arts programmes.

 The university marks achievements in learning by providing a range of scholarships for international students covering from £2,000 up to the full cost of tuition fees.

The university is located in Nottingham, one of the most unique cities in the UK. About 10% of its population is students, which creates a multicultural and friendly atmosphere. The cost of living in Nottingham is below the national average and its rates of job opportunities are some of the highest in the UK.

Two of three Nottingham Trent’s campuses are located within the city’s centre, while the third one is just outside Nottingham. In recent years, the institution has invested £450 million in campuses, which resulted in state-of-the-art facilities and a full set of tools, equipment, and technology required for success.

The university guarantees accommodation to all applicants who make it their firm choice. It provides a range of housing options including the Homestay programme for short-term accommodation with host families.

The pre-sessional courses are available to international students who want to improve their English. They span from 6 to 30 weeks.
