The history of Northumbria University goes back to the late nineteenth century when one of its constituent colleges was founded. Another milestone was achieved in 1969 with the foundation of Newcastle Polytechnic. The institution was promoted to university in 1992, and since then it expanded to three campuses in the UK and one international campus in Amsterdam.
The university successfully blends teaching with research activities. It has more than 500 partners around the world including IBM, Nike, and Nissan, all providing an outstanding value for students’ academic efforts.
Partnership with so many businesses and organizations has a positive effect on developing practical skills in real work environments. As a result, the university became number seventh for graduate employability in the UK. 95% of its graduates are able to find work within 6 months after finishing their studies.
The university hosts more than 26,000 students representing 140 countries. Thanks to 100+ societies, clubs, and volunteering projects, they have all conditions for personal and professional development. International undergraduate students can also benefit from scholarships taking £3,000 off first-year fees and £1,500 off fees for subsequent years. Scholarships for postgraduates are available as well.
