Located in Uxbridge, the west of the city of London, Brunel University London is among UK’s leading higher education institutions. It is highly renowned for the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship as well as extensive educational and research programmes. It received its name in honour of Victorian-era engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and first opened its doors in 1966.
The university is comprised of three colleges - Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences; Business, arts and social sciences; and health and life sciences. It also has three research institutes focused on energy and environment, health and society, and materials and manufacturing studies. A quarter of Brunel’s income comes from research contracts and grants.
The university is home to more than 2,500 staff members and 13,000 students from 150 countries. Yearly, it grants about 100 international scholarships to help cover tuition and living costs. Brunel Medical School offers five £6,000-worth scholarships for overseas undergraduates, the same amount is awarded for academic merits. Dean’s International Scholarship for therapy and life sciences will cover £2,000 toward a year’s tuition fee. Besides that, the university provides special scholarships for students from Columbia and Mexico.

The university is built around a single campus, which ensures that students are always within a 10-minutes reach from libraries, labs, sports facilities, lecture theatres, etc. Campus accommodation is guaranteed to all foreign students for each year of their study.
The students are provided with everything necessary for living and studying. They have access to laboratories filled with state-of-the-art equipment including bioprocessing and experimental techniques, 3D body scanners, flight, train, and driving simulators, and much more. They also have full access to on-campus bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, and nightclubs. Due to the university’s beneficial location, students are able to swiftly reach the centre of London by train or public transport to benefit from its cultural, sport, and social activities.
International students are required to have IELTS 6.0 - 7.0 level of English to enter the university. If they don’t qualify, they may use English language courses provided by Brunel Language Centre.
